The mt Pilatus trip 17/6
We drove to Lucerne and parked the car and headed to the ferry terminal. The lady yesterday said if we bought passports for the boys they could get a Swiss pass for 30 Swiss franc each for all year travel on anything. We got on the boat for 50 minutes around lake lucerne and went to the cog train . The ride up the mountain is sooo steep . It is the oldest cog train in the world !!! The view from mt Pilatus is stunning . We can see pockets of snow ice here as well . We walked up to the top viewing area which looks back to Lucerne and we can see 5 lakes . To our right are the Swiss Austrian alps still packed with snow . There is a toboggan ride here . We have to take the cable car to it . So we got the boat to the cog train went up the mountain had a look around and A very expensive lunch with beautiful views all round cable car x 3 down the mountain and a bus back to Lucerne . Not bad for less than one days activities .... What a life ! We walked the flower walk and just made the last 5.45 cable car back down to the town krises and got the no 1 trolley bus back to Lucerne station or bahnoff . We collected our car and headed back to where we are staying . We ignored the gps and found a town called sempach and we found Mini golf for the Boys and a beer & wine for us
