Brugge (Belgium)

Had a lovely drive from the flanders Fields towards Brugge. You wouldnt even know that you left France into Belgium as we crossed a river and came across a small sign. The fields are green with fresh planting and the soil is rich brown ploughed and ready for planting.

The town of Brugge is a 12 th century cloth trading partner with Britan and France. From what I understand Belgium was the country made from French and Britian after a war in the middle ages and the local anguage most used in called "flemish" the North speak dutch the south speak French.  Dutch is very hard to get your toungue around, so we are glad that the people of bRugge can speak English so well.

We went to Brugge on recommendation of our good friends Sheryl and Ian Kennedy. Well , that was the best decision made. Once again this town is 12th Century , beautiful buildings cobblestone streets. There are 3 squares, the first one as we came into the town, (where the information is) the 2nd a small sqaure near a church, and the major square surrounded by restaurants, shopst office etc. There are small canals throughout the town of which you can do a tour. We had to do the horse and cart ride. Belgium is very expenisve... saw lots of shoes worth EUR 250 plus in price.  Begliums eat fries/hot chips.. they are the potato land and also they have flemish soups and Frites, chips and skewers with crumbed cheese thinsg, meat like beef cubes, tiny pieces of chicken etc. The Belgium Chocolate shops are adorable, however - out of my price range and how could I cart the chocolate home...?
