1st June 2012

It's Friday and we were excited. We are meeting Alison and Aunty Rhonda in Paris. We drove from Cergy to Paris - where they are staying (CourtYard Marriott Nueilly Sur Seine) and parked there. We walked towards the Arch De Triomphe and walked under the road to the entrance. We climbed up the stairs and stood on top of the Arch which looks down the 6 streets - All roads lead to Paris".

well, this was amazing -Paris is a huge city for as far as we could see. What we also laughed at was the six Police Vans that sped around the Arch De Triomphe one after another sirens sounding - but not sure where they were off to.After that, we got back on the L'Open Tour Bus and headed to the Eiffel Tower. We queued under the tower for tickets and we bought the ones that you walk up to the first two floors. Only 1 lift was operating from the ground to the 2nd floor. Well that was great ... as we have climbed stairs previously today  and yesterday and the Catacombes, so here we go again. We were amazed with the view. Grahame then told us that he bought tickets also for the lift to the top. SO we queued again and off we went to the top. This was amazing... the view ... the people up there and of course when we walked past the Champage Bar - Well the money just flew out of my wallet and to the waiter. We were at the Eiffel Tower for 2 hours  and then we caught a taxi back to meet ally and Rhonda.

We had dinner out with Ally and Rhonda at Montparnasse , (we got the bus there) and then we walked back to the Eiffel Tower to watch the light show at 10pm. (apparently it goes for 5 minutes every 1/2 hr after 10 for a few hours) . There must of been hundreds of people there for the lights. We sat in the park next to the tower . A great night shared by all. Fancy Meeting our good friends in paris for dinner. - A Speciality.....
