Venice 30/6/12

We had a lovely breakfast outside the main house on the property croissants cereals fresh fruit juiceand plenty of water . As we got in the car the temperature said 39 . The owner Manuela said that today will be the hottest day in Venice for the year - how lucky are we ? . We got the train from Mira-Mirano station to Venice and went straight to the information box. We are heading out to look at the islands . We got the 4.1 ferry from the train station to fondamente nove and then got the no 13 ferry to vignole island where we had lunch . Can't believe it this ferry was air conditioned inside ! The restaurant trattoria alle Vignole was a walk to a bridge cross the canal and walk 200 m to the foreshore of the island . It was a seafood restaurant where you chose the food and they cook it and you sit on plastic chairs and tables and have paper for a tablecloth. Then we walked back vignole wharf and got the boat to Murano island. This is where the glass blowers are and all the shops . This island is small and so much nicer than Venice . Worth a trip there . Then finally we got the no 3 ferry back to the railway station And the train home to mira . Had a swim where we are staying , a few drinks and check out the sunset !!! Dinner out at the local mitano pizza place . Boys had pizza Grahame and sonia enjoyed paella . Pa stayed behind to go to bed early! Another hot day ahead ! But we slept well in our Glamping tent ! Off to Slovenia again !!!
