3/7 Slovenia

We headed to a town on northern slovenia called murska sobota which is close to the country Hungary . We had lunch there in the markets . Dad and sonia had never been there . It borders near hungary the Northern most point if Slovenia . Then we went to the second largest town in Slovenia , Maribor which is having their festival 2012 . We found accommodation thankfully that was air conditioned after surviving awful heat all night previously . This is the 20th year of the festival we walked from the hotel and crossed the train tracks ( quick way to town) We walked through the old town and checked out the eateries . There were performers everywhere doing little acts . There were dj's set up in alleyways and people dancing . We came across a performance and band act from Belgium in the main square Of the old town . We stayed there for the whole show and even participated with the tea towels being waved around and dancing . Kieran and Tristan were embarrased by mum and dad we think . Then we came across some Mexican act with mine to music of whom made us all laugh and clap . Their was an Australian one man act dressed as a joker . How did we know ? He kept on saying g'day to everyone on the act The side of the river which is called the ' lent' area has restaurants there . There were two stages set up at either end of the river next to the bridges . Macy grey was the headline act of which you needed tickets . Bugger couldn't get any on the night . There were tents with bars in them more food and wine tasting ,dogem's cars and other rides as well . There were 3 big electrical storms that came thorough the night over 3 hours . Grahame and I shared cocktails and the boys got frozen coke . a great night out on the town . We walked back to the hotel the long way - the trains were running !
